General Giveaway Official Rules

Effective Date: June 18, 2025

These General Giveaway Official Rules (“Rules”) apply to all giveaways, contests, or sweepstakes (“Giveaways”) conducted by Joy Lewis (“Sponsor”) at joylewisauthor.com or via associated email communications or social media, unless a specific giveaway posts its own Official Rules; in that case, the specific rules govern. By entering any Giveaway, you agree to these Rules and any specific Official Rules posted for that Giveaway.

1. Sponsor

Sponsor: Joy Lewis, PO Box 35, Lebanon, TN 37088, USA.
Giveaway administration (selection of winners, prize fulfillment) may be handled by Sponsor or its designated service providers.

2. Eligibility

  • Age & Residency: You must meet the age and residency requirements stated in the specific Giveaway announcement (typically 13+ or 18+, U.S. residents unless otherwise specified). If no specific requirements are stated, entrants must be at least 13 years old and residents of the U.S. or as otherwise allowed by law.

  • Exclusions: Employees of Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies, and immediate family members or household members of such employees are not eligible, unless otherwise specified.

  • Compliance: Entry constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Rules and any specific Official Rules. Receipt of prize is conditional upon compliance with these Rules and verification of eligibility.

3. Giveaway Period

  • Start & End Dates: Each Giveaway announcement will specify the entry start date/time and end date/time (the “Entry Period”). All times refer to America/Chicago. Entries received before or after the Entry Period are void.

  • Time Zones: If not specified otherwise, times are Central Time (UTC−05:00/UTC−06:00 depending on DST). Confirm dates in each announcement.

4. How to Enter

  • Entry Methods: Entry methods will be described in the Giveaway announcement and may include one or more of:

    • Replying to a specified newsletter email with required information.

    • Clicking a link to an entry form on joylewisauthor.com or a third-party form provider.

    • Filling out a short online form with required fields (e.g., name, email).

  • Entry Limit: Unless otherwise stated, limit one (1) entry per person per Giveaway. Additional entries may be disqualified. If multiple entry methods exist, follow the instructions to ensure only the allowed number of entries.

  • No Purchase Necessary: No purchase is required to enter or win. If any Giveaway communication suggests purchase, an alternative free method of entry will be provided. Void where prohibited by law.

5. Prize Details

  • Typical Prizes: Prizes are usually small items such as a signed book, sticker set, art cards, or occasionally an Amazon gift card. Exact prize(s) and approximate retail value will be specified in the Giveaway announcement.

  • Number of Winners: Specified in each Giveaway announcement (e.g., one winner, multiple winners).

  • Odds of Winning: Depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period.

6. Winner Selection & Notification

  • Selection Method: Winners are selected at random from eligible entries unless a specific judging criterion is announced.

  • Notification: Winners will be notified as described in the Giveaway announcement (e.g., by email) within a specified timeframe after the Entry Period ends.

  • Response Requirement: Winners may be required to respond within a certain period (e.g., 48–72 hours) to confirm eligibility and provide mailing address or other information needed for prize fulfillment. Failure to respond in time may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

7. Prize Fulfillment

  • Delivery: Physical prizes (signed books, stickers, art cards) will be mailed to the address provided by the winner. Digital prizes (e.g., e-gift codes) or gift cards will be sent via email or other method specified.

  • Shipping Restrictions: Prizes are shipped only to U.S. addresses unless otherwise stated. International shipping may not be available; check announcement for details.

  • Taxes & Fees: Winners are responsible for any taxes, duties, or fees associated with prize receipt or use unless Sponsor states otherwise.

  • Use of Information: Personal data provided for prize fulfillment is used solely for administering the Giveaway and delivering the prize, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

8. Publicity Release

By entering, unless prohibited by law, winners grant Sponsor the right to use their name, city/state, and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without further compensation, unless the specific Giveaway rules state otherwise.

9. Privacy

Entry information is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. Data collected for each Giveaway (e.g., name, email, mailing address) is used only for administering the Giveaway and delivering prizes, and will not be shared beyond necessary service providers. Entry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing communications; any newsletter signup is separate unless the Giveaway announcement states otherwise.

10. Disqualification

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, provides false information, violates these Rules or applicable laws, or engages in any fraudulent or disruptive behavior. Decisions by Sponsor regarding eligibility and winners are final and binding.

11. General Conditions

  • Modification or Cancellation: Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any Giveaway or these Rules if fraud, technical failures, or other factors beyond Sponsor’s control impair the integrity of the Giveaway, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

  • Release & Limitations of Liability: By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising/promotional agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any liability arising out of participation in the Giveaway or acceptance/use/misuse of any prize.

  • No Warranty: Prizes are provided “as is.” Sponsor makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding any prize, including its merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

  • Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Giveaway shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by state or federal court located in Tennessee, USA.

  • Governing Law: These Rules and all matters arising out of or relating to the Giveaway are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
